About the event
1. Education- A 2 hour discussion which will cover:
- a brief history of Chinese Medicine from a Medical Anthropology pov (including a light deconstruction of how we know what we know or think we know lol)
- a brief intro to non-western medicine
- a brief overview of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
- how TCM views the whole person in regards to health and healing
- how this relates to the seasons
- what the Liver represents in TCM
- how to use this knowledge to heal the past and predict the future.
We'll also do some breathwork, meditation, visualization, QiGong, and Tuina (Chinese bodywork) type activities to really ground the learning.
2. As Add-ons I'm also offering:
A. A "Cleanse" via Standard Process. +$200
They are one of the best regarded and oldest natural supplement companies in the US. They offer a number of detox/cleanse products many of which I have done with my clients in the past. Generally, I like their "10 day healthy inflammation response program" (minus the Boswellia because so many folks are already on Turmeric). Great paperwork from these folks included. If folks would like a different cleanse I'm happy to manage that too. This one is just a great/easy starting point - most likely for folks not interested in the TCM based consultations / new client offerings.

B. TCM Nutritional Counseling +$100 (free to existing clients in attendance)
I've been eager to have offerings for clients who, rather than the standard in-office Acupuncture model, might prefer to focus on diet/nutrition and/or Chinese herbs. For existing clients who attend, I'm going to provide (for free) information specific to your presenting problem/ goals (differential diagnosis) from a nutritional perspective along with dietary suggestions, recipes etc. We can go over this in our next appointments. For new clients, after they fill out some additional paperwork, I'll do the same (@$100) and go over the findings in a half hour appointment, in-person or online.
C. TCM Herbal Consultation +$100. (I've already covered this with existing clients)
For new clients in an exactly similar fashion to the Nutritional Counseling I'll provide a consultation based on their "chief complaint" and/or "constitution" and make suggestions for TCM based herbal medications. This is effectively a back door for any clients who want TCM herbs but don't want acupuncture.
D. Of course if anyone really enjoys the day and wants to become a new client I'm happy to get them in ASAP.
E. Any number of combinations of the above services:
a. Class plus consultation = $200
b. Class plus "cleanse" = $300
c. Existing client class + cleanse + TCM nutritional consult (discounted) = $300
d. New full TCM client intake = class, cleanse, both consults, treatment plan = $500.
